January 17th is my Mom's Birthday & January 18th is my Dad's Birthday. I was told that my parents met on STINSON BEACH in the Summer of 1971. My mom had just graduated from San Rafael High School and was celebrating there at the beach. My Dad was also a graduate of San Rafael High, but had graduated two years earlier. They didn't know each other until they met at Stinson Beach.
Somewhere along the line, I was also told that STINSON MEANS STINGRAY, but it's been very hard for me to find any evidence of that. I don't remember who told me that or why, and I've even called the Historical Society in Stinson Beach about it a few years back, because it interested me. TODAY I FOUND THIS and it's the closest thing I've found so far that relates Stinson to anything "sting.":
